at a san francisco branch of wells fargo this morning. 60 people who lost their homes stormed the bank on third street. they are part of the occupy our homes movement. police escorted the protesters out of the bank. wells fargo says tomorrow and saturday they will grant $5 million in down payment assistance for those who qualify. >>> police are looking for the driver of a vehicle who hit and killed a pedestrian and drove away. it happened wednesday night around 5:45 p.m. investigators say the victim was crossing the street when he was struck by a dark colored suv or van. police say the vehicle continued south dound -- continued south bound. the victim's identity is being wealth held. >>> investigators say a man who died last night after a fight at a homeless encampment was strangled to death. he was fighting with another transient before he died. a autopsy revealed that cause of death. he was booked into county jail on suspicion of murder and being held on $1 million bail. >>> investigators make a break in a case of a string of tollbooth robberies. ktvu's ken pritchett joins us live fr

incase of the flooding but they closed it. >> to ktvu's lorraine blanco who is live in san francisco where the power has been out for most of the day in the sunset district. >> reporter: right now dozens of people are without power. pg&e crews hard at work trying to restore power. for crews across the bay area, the wild weather left quite a mess. >> reporter: heavy saturation toppled this pine tree today. blocking two lanes and blocking up computers in daily city. firefighters helping the chp. no one was hurt but it has been a while. >> our crews have been working all night. calls been very busy. 30 minutes sleep last night. very busy. >> reporter: in san francisco heavy winds and rain snapped this power pole before sun rise in the sunset district. >> when it happened there were tons of sparks and lightning. >> reporter: at one point 8400 customers lost power here. pg&e said they have been working all day to repair. >> the stuff in the freezer might be going. i missed the football game. not too bad. >> reporter: they agree. although the creek is high, it is fun to play in the puddle.

dropping news out of san francisco where four pedestrians were injured when they tried to get out of the way of a speeding vehicle. it happened at 10:00 tonight at the city's twin looking points. four people werewalking when a driver came speeding down the road near that look out point. several people had to jump out of the k rail to get away. two of them had to be taken to the hospital, two of them possibly in critical condition. a witness on the scene told ktvu four people were detained. he said he saw four people in handcuffs while a fourth was injured. we will bring you a live update just as soon as we can get more information. >>> now to solano county where a hit-and-run driver killed a man and his dog today. we're going to eric rasmussen who has the story. >> reporter: one neighbor told me she saw the tire tracks but saw no man and no suspect. >> they were going too far for the neighborhood. left him for dead, did not stop. >> reporter: kevin bowl was walking his own dogs when he got the word. his long time friend and neighbor thomas had been hit at the intersection of sutt

at a home in san francisco's valley. lorraine blanco is there with the details on how this fire may have started, good morning, lorraine. >> reporter: good morning, dave, well you can see a burned pile of construction and that's where they think the fire started. at this point investigators are not calling it suspicious. they got a call on the multi- hundred block of sanchez street. firefighters do not think anybody was inside the home during the fire and they are not sure when construction workers were inside there last. >> we have no idea, right now it is under construction. we are not sure but we left a message to the responsible party and he has not gotten back to us yet. >> investigators say there was no evidence anybody was inside the garage trying to get warm last night. >> reporter: the cause of the single alarm fire is under investigation, lorraine blanco ktvu channel 2 morning news. >>> and the latest round of violence in oakland has claimed the life of a grandmother. tara moriarty is in oakland and tells us the woman is believed to have been an innocent bystander, good morning

. napa35, san francisco 46, san jose 37 degrees. definitely off to a cold start this saturday morning. forecast headlines for today, shower developing, it'll be chilly. tomorrow just a chance of a few sprinkles and the highest chance would be in the north bay, especially up toward sonoma. we are tracking multiple storms on the long range weather maps. at least for today here is the system we are tracking, the sources rainfall around eureka. already cloud cover into the area and that rainfall not to far behind. here is the forecast model. we will take it into the morning about an hour from now at eight mostly cloudy and cool. temperatures from around 30 to 45 and then by the afternoon, by 12:00 showers developing especially up in the northern half of the area. you will see more activity off shore and then throughout the afternoon hours off and on showers likely and temperatures only making it into the low to mid50s. these numbers not a big change from yesterday in places like fairfield and antioch. most of the afternoon in the upper 40s. briefly topping out at 50. san jose 54, san mate

to 101 in san francisco. you can see we have traffic flowing nicely in both directions. finally a look at maze. you can see traffic also flowing very well there on the far right hand side of the screen. let's check in with mark. >> good morning to you. we are taking a live look outside. you can see in the south bay and san jose cloud cover to deal with. the key headline, we get a break-in the rain. no rainfall expected in the bay area. you can see even the sierra gets a break and all i can find is a few spotty showers, very light. as far as current temperatures, just updated for the 7:00 hour it has cooled off one degree in fairfield down at 39 at last check. oakland in the mid40s. sfo at 50 and san jose right about 43. here is the forecast for today. more cloud cover this morning, temperatures in the upper 30s to the upper 40s. then in the afternoon partly cloudy, we will strip away the clouds, those readings in the low to mid50s. we have another weather system off shore that could produce a few showers. especially by friday evening. for today we just have the big batch of cloud cove
